French President Emmanuel Macron said Saturday that Ukraine and its international partners will convene a high-level video conference on Tuesday, signaling a renewed push to coordinate Western positions as negotiations continue in Geneva.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the G20 summit in South Africa, Macron said the meeting aims to assess developments emerging from the Geneva talks and to align strategic responses among Kyiv’s allies. “We will hold a meeting on Tuesday afternoon to coordinate on this point, and to see what progress will be made in the Geneva negotiations in the coming days, and to be able to take new initiatives,” he said.

European leaders earlier in the day voiced apprehension over several elements within the current Ukrainian peace proposal, cautioning that certain provisions may require revision before broader support can be secured. Still, officials emphasized that efforts by the United States to advance diplomatic solutions were an essential step toward ending the conflict.

The planned virtual meeting is expected to bring together senior political and security advisers, underscoring rising urgency among Ukraine’s partners to maintain a unified approach as the war’s trajectory remains uncertain.
